How do you design your generator powered emergency lighting systems?
The electrical design community has struggled to provide flexibility and energy efficiency when designing emergency lighting systems. Some spaces that required low light levels for audio visual presentations, special effects for sporting events, dances, etc. have not had the flexibility desired due to local and national building codes. Many design professionals have been forced to leave lighting fixtures illuminated because of the lack of an economical and safe way of switching emergency lighting loads.
We have a solution!
With the input of the electrical engineering community and code enforcement officials, we have developed a solution. The BLTC series of intelligent switching devices. They can be used to convert and control up to 10 amps of lighting load as UL approved 924 designated emergency lighting fixtures.
How do they work?
Fail-safe circuitry monitors normal utility power and when an interruption is sensed the unit uses integrated 20 amp relay contacts to automatically transfer ballasts to the emergency power source.
Where can I put it?
The BLTC-I can be mounted in any fluorescent ballast channel and can control up to 10 amps of lighting load in the same room or area. The BLTC-R is a remote unit designed to be mounted in a 4-11/16" square junction box.
Can I switch it?
When utility power is interrupted and the building generator or inverter system is brought on-line, the fixtures connected to BLTC devices are automatically energized no matter the room switch position.
